Are you looking to implement stations into your Algebra 1 instruction? Are you looking for engaging and rigorous activities for your Algebra 1 students? Look no further!
This activity is designed to engage students while they practice isolating a variable using literal equations. This only practices isolating one variable while using literal equations. Please look at the preview for more information. You can complete this activity in a station or as homework practice. The activity comes with a paper and digital version so that you can pick what works well in your classroom.
You can use this activity is three different ways!
1. Independently while offering students a choice in the questions they solve.
2. Independently while answering all the questions on the board.
3. As a partner game- play tic tac toe with a partner while both solving the literal equations.
This activity has a SpongeBob theme to reel students in without seeming like textbook problems.
This activity follows the Texas Algebra standards of A.12E – please note this is just isolating one of the variables. Students will not be working backwards.
