Cupid’s Arrow STEM Project Incorporating Catapults and Ratios

Do you need a way to keep kids engaged and focused on Math before Valentine’s Day? Bring in a STEM Challenge to engaged your students while they practice creating ratios!

Students will design and make a catapult to launch a heart candy! Students will complete three challenges with their catapult. While completing their challenges they will produce ratios! Students will complete part to part, part to whole as well as creating ratios with words, fractions and colons :

Teachers will need some easy to get supplies such as heart candy, empty soda cans, craft sticks, plastic spoons, rubber bands, cups, and meter sticks.
